The Aurista Duo
THOMAS OSUGA is well known in Youngstown. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the Dana School of Music, a Master of Music from Manhattan School, and is finishing a Doctorate of Music degree at New York University. At present, Osuga is on the faculty at the Mannes School of Music in New York. As an active recitalist specializing in contemporary music, particularly those by Asian composers, he is well known in the New York metropolitan area and has appeared around the country.
GRACE (HYO-JUNG) YOO was born in Seoul, Korea, holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Seoul National University, and is a graduate scholarship student at Juilliard School of Music — studying with Joel Smirnoff (Principal Violin of the Juilliard Quartet). She has won numerous awards including first prize in the New York Five Towns Competition, The Strad Competition, and the Jeunesse Musicales Korean Competition. She has performed extensively as a soloist and with chamber groups in Korea, Europe, and New York City.
