The Annual New Music Society Winter Pops Concert takes place in Bliss Recital Hall, March 3, 8:00 p.m., and will include seven world premieres. Two of these are works by Dana faculty composer Robert Rollin which were commissioned by Dana Alumni. Dana voice instructor Corinne Morini requested a set of songs for soprano and piano on poems by the American poetess Emily Dickinson. Ms. Morini holds a B. Mus. from Dana and an M. Mus. from the New England Conservatory, and is highly regarded as a performer and teacher in the area. Pianist Avguste Antonov will be the Guest Artist of the New Music Society, appearing with the Dana Composers Ensemble, Robert Rollin director, on the second set of Annual Fall Concerts, November 4-6. The concerts will take place on Wednesday, November 4 at the Music at Noon concert series at the Butler Institute of American Art; Wednesday, November 4 Main Concert at 8:00pm in Bliss Recital Hall; Thursday, November 5 at 5:00pm at Ss. The New Music Society will open its 2009-2010 season with two Fall Concerts performed by the Composers Ensemble, directed by Dana faculty member Dr. Robert Rollin and featuring music by local composers.
